Tonights extreme makeover weight loss edition
I'm very torn watching this episode. I know where this man is coming from. I'm pissed that he is ruining a chance of a lifetime, but I've been down that road before. Now five months into my new life, I do sometimes sigh when I drive past a fast food restaurant, but I don't stop. Why can't this man? Just wondered if anyone else watched this and what they thought about it.

it was heartbreaking but atleast at the end he agreed to go to rehab, hopefully things will be better for him in the future.0

This is the first episode I have watched of this series, and it broke my heart. I wanted him to succeed so badly, and watching him fail just killed me! He had an in-home gym, a personal trainer, and more motivation than anyone could hope for, yet he couldn't pull through?
Sigh...I hope he gets the help he needs and changes his life around.0 -
I watched it, I found it very sad. I wonder though, how much background information they get on the "contestants" prior to choosing. It seems to me, that food addiction should be obvious with thorough background info. I could be wrong.
Still, I feel sorry for his family.0 -
This was a difficult one to watch, but it seem to make the show more real. Show's us that food addiction is very real and some just really can't do it with out the help of a professional.
Perhaps you are more mentally, emotionally sound than he is. After all he was suicidal and finally admitted to his addiction, just hope for the best for him.0 -
It is certainly and example of extreme food addiction... Unfortunately I see myself in that young man. I have lost a lot of weight and still have a long way to go. but I do find that I sabotage myself... I loathe myself for it. I do not feel my addiction is a excessive as his, but I do find myself wanting to 'reward myself' for that 20 miles I rode and just crave things that I know are not good. I do not habitually give in. But there are times that I do.... Hmmmm perhaps I need more than just a eating and exercise program... It was sad but after the last several makeovers, this shows the grim reality that no matter how much help or support one has at their disposal, addiction can take over and ruin all the opportunities given. Hope he does have a happy ending, as we on MFP want for ourselves...0

yeah it sucks, but its good that they are not masking anything and only showing the positive results. I know that there are people from the biggest loser that end up gaining all their weight back too, but they don't like to show that..0

I cried my eyes out at the end. How helpless he must have felt!
In the end, I am glad that they brought the addiction issue up. Many people believe that food addiction is just an excuse to be fat and that it is not real.0 -
I felt really bad for him too. If you have Chris, a wife, & daughter to motivate you and still fail, what else can you do to motivate a person. I hope they have a follow up episode showing that he finally got his act together.0
