HI. I have tracking in myfitnesspal for the past 3 weeks and I have found it to be a very helpful tool. It is so easy to over eat and not realize it, and I have had quite a few eye openers over the past couple of weeks!!This tool allows me to be accountable for what I put in my body. I am not what most would consider to be overweight, actaully until recently I have been keeping my weight around the 110 pound mark ( I am 5 feet tall and 34 years old ) however over the past 2 years my weight has been slowly creeping up. I am currently sitting at 124 pounds and am having a very difficult time taking off ANY of it. I re joined the gym about 3 months ago and hired a personal trainer last month ( I meet with her once or twice a week ) but my weight it subbornly hanging on. I am trying to determine what that reason is and this is what has brought me to this website. I have a dietician that has taken a look at my food journal and we are trying different things to see what will work so hopefully I will see some results soon. Wish me luck :-)

As another five footer, I'm about ten pounds heavier than you are and am finding it difficult to remove any of the extra weight. I've been stuck at 135 for three years with a few exceptions where I have been severely dehydrated weighing in at 125. However you're able to do it, please fill me in! :)

I read a post on here that was really great about explaining why we hit plateaus and why some of us (me included!) take forever to start losing weight. I wish I could find it and link to it but I can't seem to locate it right now. To summarize: don't worry if you aren't losing weight for 4-6 weeks. Depressing, right? Our bodies take time to catch up with our new levels of exercise and calorie intake so they can take a while to adjust our weight accordingly. Remember to focus on the fact that you are doing things right and that it will work out in end. I also find it helpful to focus on the things I'm achieving even if they aren't on the scale. Watch your endurance go up. Can you lift heavier weights or do more pushups or situps now? Are your clothes starting to fit the tiniest bit better?

It will come. Keep fighting the good fight!
