Any tips or advice please?

Is there anything I can eat/drink (natural only no diuretic tablets etc) that will help combat water retention?

Many thanks :-D

green tea and just loads of water. I always have a pint of water beside me and make myself drink it. I also have about 7 cups of green tea throughout the day. There's loads of flavours if you don't think you'd like it.
I lost 4 lbs last week from water retention, granted I need a wee ALL the time but it worked!

i agree with above - water water water your body generally only holds on to it because its not getting enough in - I drink around 3 points of peppermint tea a day plus 7 pints of water.

    Thanks :-D

I'm going to give that a try - must admit I haven't been drinking as much water as I should (I'm a bit of a tea pot and drink more tea than water!!) and it makes perfect sense that my body would be holding onto it if its not getting enough xx

    Foods and Herbs
Using foods and herbs that have diuretic properties is gaining popularity over diuretic pills. Natural diuretics should be used in moderation and can treat sciatica, kidney stones, lymphatic swelling, PMS, gonorrhea, liver disorders and high blood pressure.

Examples of foods and herbs that can be used as diuretics:

Green tea - a natural diuretic food that has been used for centuries in China
Cranberry Juice - can aid in removal of excess fluid retention
Apple cider vinegar - exhibits natural diuretic properties and maintains potassium levels
Nettle - has natural diuretic properties that facilitate good cleansing
Dandelion leaf tea - aids in detoxification and helps those with cystitis and urinary tract infections
Fennel - has carminative and diuretic properties and is used in seasoning food
Watermelon - has high water content which helps to increase urination and flushes out toxins
Cucumbers - also high in water and rich in sulfur and silicon which stimulate the kidneys into better removal of uric acid
Watercress - a natural diuretic food
Artichokes - a natural diuretic food
Asparagus - contains asparigine which is a chemical alkaloid that boosts kidney performance, thereby improving waste removal from the body
Brussel Spouts - help in stimulating the kidneys and pancreas which helps in better cleansing of cells
Beets - are natural diuretic foods that attack floating body fats and fatty deposits
Oats - contain silica which is a natural diuretic
Cabbage - is known to aid breakage of fatty deposits, especially around the abdominal region
Carrots - are a rich source of carotene that speeds the metabolic rate of the body and hastens removal of fat deposits and waste
Lettuce - aids better metabolism and flushing of toxins
Tomatoes - are rich in Vitamin C that aid the metabolism and release of water from the kidney to flush out waste
