Jif peanut powder vs PB2

I tried the Jif peanut powder with a banana today and it tasted God awful. In fact, there was virtually no peanut butter taste at all. I bought a small thing of PB2 in case I didn't like it. Is it any better tasting than the Jif? I had high hopes for the Jif, but it was no good. Are these peanut powders meant more for mixing in with things?

Yeah, I would stick to using powdered peanut butters as a mixin.

I have some Jif in the pantry and sometimes add it to a little Greek Yogurt and cereal.

PB2 is way better than Jiff. I had tried PB2 first and was so excited about it, so I thought I'd try the Jiff. It's still sitting in my cabinet. I can use it for a mix-in but not like I would use regular peanut butter.

I can't tell the difference between PB2 and real peanut butter.

I really like PB2 and, to me, it tastes just like peanut butter out of the jar. I've used it as peanut butter spread and I've added it to vanilla yogurt. Saw Jif peanut powder yesterday, didn't buy it, but am interested in trying it since it's less expensive.

I like the protein plus peanut flour the best - no salt or sugar, and especially good at thickening my Asian peanut sauces without a lot of calories.

I've enjoyed the Santa Cruz peanut powder (still haven't tried PB2--keep forgetting to look for it). But I've only used it in smoothies. I wouldn't try to make it into peanut butter.

I normally mix it in my morning oatmeal and my afternoon Greek yogurt

I too like PB2 straight - I use a little less water than is called for, and find it is pretty darn close to the taste and consistency of Peanut Butter - at least for me. Its pricey though - the only place I have found it in my area it goes for $8 (CDN) per jar

I use Jamie Eason's peanut butter protein powder shake (it's practically the same thing). I mix it in with yogurt, protein shakes or sprinkle it on anything.. veggies, SWEET POTATOES (so good), ice cream, etc. I love my nut butters so I don't use the PB powder in the same way I use my nut butters.

Every jar of PB2 I ever bought had an off taste. Almost like it was on the shelf too long and had gone a bit rancid.

The bags of Jif I've had have been better. Mind you, I never use the stuff straight. I only mix it in smoothies or yogurt or cottage cheese.

I'm not buying PB2 again. I give up after so many bad jars.

Check the bulk section of your local grocery stores. One of mine carries it in the bulk section. I've gotten it for as little as $2.38 per pound on sale. Not on sale it's still usually only about $4.50 per pound.

I bought PB2 to put in my chocolate protein powder. It was gross. I had a hard time giving it away to my health nut coworkers. Bleh!

PB2 has added sugar and salt which is why it tastes like regular peanut butter. I just add a little swerve and a little salt and it's just like "real" peanut butter. I like that it's not added though. That way I can decide if I want it sweeter for spreading or just peanut powder to add to recipes.

I switched to using PB2 over regular peanut butter because I wanted to cut calories. I actually love PB2, but I suppose it's because I have not tried another brand of powdered peanut butter yet. PB2, to me, tastes like peanut butter. I also buy the one with the chocolate in it, so I guess that's been helping LOL.

I've been using this variety of PB2 as a spread on sandwich thins, either by itself or with fruit. I've always found it in the Peanut butter section of grocery stores O_o Guess it's just easy to find cheap in my area...

I like the Jif in my smoothies, but when it comes to actual flavor by itself, I prefer PB2.
