Hi, I have been using MFP off and on for a while. I need to get serious because I'm pre-diabetic and I want to stop that before it gets to diabetes. I just want to know the benefits of the premium account and if it is worth the money. I'm also looking for tips tricks motivation support as well as offer those in return. My profile pic is where I want 2b. Add me?

Not for me. The database is too inaccurate.

I am fairly new to MFP (about 3 months). I have found the free version to be everything I need for right now. Explore what is here for free before you look to upgrade: the reports, the message boards, the food and exercise databases, etc.

Good luck. Your future self looks gorgeous!

I paid for the premium once for a few months and never used the extra bells and whistles. Everything I use is on the free.

    Free version is just fine.
  • Being able to adjust your macro's independently is quite nice. Also even if you don't use all the premium features just look at it like your supporting myfitnesspal which im sure all of us are very grateful something like this exists for free.

My prepaid card was about to expire, so I just bought a sub with the leftover money. It's convenient for me since I vary my calories throughout the week and seeing how many calories I have left at a glance is nice. Would I renew? Probably not. 50 dollars a year is too steep for just this one feature, which is the only thing I use in my premium sub. Now if it also included the ability to filter my food database search to only include USDA entries (or even just the confirmed entries) and my own custom foods, then I would renew in a heartbeat once it expire.

I used premium for awhile and resubscribed last month, mostly for the fact that I can have different daily calorie goals which just works better for my daily life and helps my mental sanity not to see that red number even though I know im allowed to go a little higher today with my food (I set my calories 200 higher on date nights). But ill probably unsubscribe again shortly because that is literally the only function I use.
