Clothing exchange?
Hi all,
Does anyone know if there's a group or something that exchanges clothes? I have a bunch of size 16 clothes to get rid of. Looking for 14s, preferably dress slacks and bottoms I can wear to work. My 16s are starting to look like circus tents and my bf is complaining that they don't show my butt enough. (LOL )
I definitely am not in a financial situation that allows me to buy a new wardrobe every time I change a size. I would rather wait until my ideal size. Any suggestions?
Thanks!!!!

I don't know about a swap or anything like that, but I usually just pick up a couple pairs in my size from Goodwill or Salvation Army. Nothing like getting a pair of Gap work pants for $3. Or check out super-clearance racks at Old Navy or something. Sometimes you can find pants for under $10. Or maybe check into a tailor. Some of them have really good rates.0

try freecycle its a yahoo group if they have it in your area. the only rule is you have to offer something first then you can ask. I've gotten a sleeping bag, and newspapers from there when I was packing to move, but I see people offer and ask for clothing all the time0

E bay for me, but clothes swapping things are becoming popular here -you take x number of decent items, usually a minimum of 5, it all goes on rails, then at a given time you then take x number of things equal to what you brought. My sister went to one the other day, but managed to pick up one item with US sizing, so it was massive on her, but got someother things which were ok, all for things she didn't want herself.
Why not organise one if there's not one near you, you could charge an entry fee for a local charity - have it in a church hall or something?0 -
Sell them on Ebay, Craigslist, or a Garage Sale, and use that money and go to Good Will and buy second hand. Sometimes you can find brand new clothes that have never been worn with the tags still on them. You can also go to the Salvation Army and buy second hand.0

I know that our local clothing consignment stores are always looking for large ladies clothes. Try that ... then take you $$ and buy you some new duds.. OR host a clothing exchange between friends.0

There are sites and organizations for clothing swaps all over the place. Try googling to find local meetups in your area as well.0 -

freecycle is awesome! just look up freecycle on yahoo and maybe your county. Mine is called clark county freecyle. You can give away your clothes there and ask for new ones. Sometimes its a crap shoot! you may get some and sometimes not, but its worth a try.0 -
Thanks for the suggestions! I just requested to join the Freecycle group in my area, that's a great idea!0
