3rd Week = Failed Week for me (Gotta do better)

This week has been a bad week altogether . Only did my outside walking 3 times this week. (Two 30 minute walks and 1 hour walk) Very lazy to say the least. Cleaning up is one thing but should not be the biggest exercise you do in a day. This week I mostly copped out by Walking around my house for 30 mins or hour straight . It gets my heart rate flowing but at the end of the day it's still no substitute for walking around block and getting a full cardio exercise. As far as Food Diary ,I've taken fellow fitness pal's advice by drinking lot of water but unfortunately I've eaten alot this week. I look at calories at end of the day and it's way too close to my calorie goals. I'm trying to get out of the 400's by Jan.1st . At the rate I'm going I maybe will be at 428 in 5 weeks. That's not gonna cut it for me. The process is a slow gradual grind I know but the quicker I can get this weight off my chest. The better I can breathe and less pain I feel. Everyday I wake up it's always something aching or hurting . This is the most active I've been but very disappointed at my laziest and lack of self control this week.My life is on the line and I've very little room for error's or set backs. IF YOUR READING THIS... PRAY THAT I GET IT TOGETHER AND GET BACK ON THE RIGHT TRACK BY GIVING 110% EVERYDAY NUTRITION AND EXERCISE WISE

This week was not a failure. It was the first step on a very long trip. So it was a small one...who cares! The next will be a little bigger and the next a little bigger again. And as the weight comes off, each next step is a little easier.
Don't be so hard on yourself, your body doesn't care if you are walking inside or out, cleaning is better exercise than none...my favourite piece of advice is from Dory in finding Nemo "just keep swimming swimming swimming".
You can do this.9 -

That does not read like failure to me. You exercised several times and you have logged your food. Have you gone over your goal at all? It does not sound like you have. Don't be hard on yourself. You are doing well.7

When I don't see results fast I get frustrated too. Don't give up ok. We can do this. This app is so helpful. There are lots of people here who have great ideas.2

If you set up your calorie goal correctly you don't have to eat way under it, just eat that many calories and no more. Unless you set it at maintenance calories?
Just do better next week if you feel you didn't do your best this week- start Sunday too, no need to wait for Monday!1 -
Three days walking outside is better than 2 days, so call it good and stay under your calorie target each day.0

It is a grind, with a lot of trial and error...don't look at it as a failure, this isn't a project, this is the rest of your life...you're going to have great weeks, you're going to stumble a few times. Its a lesson I'm learning myself.....we got this tho.2

I'm praying for you, OP. It sounds like you have a great attitude. I don't see failure in anything you said... you are walking and aim to increase it and eat at your calorie goal and have good self-awareness. I'm a big believer that big change happens with small things done faithfully over time. In 3 weeks, you have shown that you have what it takes to do this over the long haul. It will be a long haul. Keep it up. You're doing great!5

Like the others, I think you did well this week. It takes time to get everything the way you want it. You are logging -- that is great!! You are exercising -- even better. Slowly start exercising more and eating less, if you want to lose all your weight and keep it off. Otherwise, it will be too difficult, and the chances of failing are extremely high. (I speak from experience.) You can do this!! I will pray for you.0

Any activity is better than no activity! It sounds like you have what it takes, keep believing in yourself, you can do this!!1

I started at 229 pounds.
At that time I didn't exercise at all.
I was going out of my home once a week and used some kind of transport because I wanted to walk as little as possible.
I wanted to focus in my diet first because in the past I noticed exercise made me hungry and I could cut more calories from the diet than exercise.
I did it this way for 2 and half months.
I lost some weight and this motivated me.
I decided to walk daily because I wanted the extra calories to eat.
Now I find that walking keeps me busy and even cut my appetite.
If I can't go out for some reason I purposely walk in my home.
You have to go at your own pace.
Do things when you feel ready.
Don't give up.
If you carry on you will be successful in the end.7 -
Keep after it, AbneyHakeem. I like your spirit. Keep making the next week a better week and you'll get there. Stay strong.2

Failures and setbacks are all part of the process. Being super hard on yourself can sometimes make things more difficult than necessary. The only way to fail is to quit.1

Keep at it OP because you're being too hard on yourself and you're doing well! Look back to say 6 weeks ago and what you were eating and exercising then and now look at what you are doing.....eating to a budget [which you can go right up to] and doing some exercise....brilliant! You didn't get to your start weight overnight and you won't get to your goal weight overnight.
You aren't lazy, it's just that your capacity for exercise is not great at the moment but it will get better and better as the lbs drop off. I wish you all the very best1 -
I understand that you want to get some weight off fast, and that it's important and urgent. But to do that effectively, you have to be reasonable. Losing weight is simple - it's just about eating less than you burn, but eating less than you are used to isn't necessarily easy. You have to do this for a long, long time, so your number one priority would be to make it as easy for you as possible. Set yourself up for success! You have to be kinder to yourself instead of mad at yourself, but you also have to be a lot stricter in some areas.
Don't beat yourself up for not "exercising". Anything you do at your weight, is strenuous exercise. Just moving, whatever you do, is great! And cleaning up is certainly more useful than running on a treadmill!
You have to hit your calorie goal - every day. Don't try to eat under. I would suggest lowering your goal to 3000 - 3500, but hit it, every day. If logging exercise doesn't confuse you, do that, but don't eat back those calories. But eat your allotted calories, you must.
You will have to rely a lot on self control when you are surrounded by junk food, and you need more real food to get more energy. Don't just pray - plan! Make a list of meals you can imagine yourself wanting to eat for the next week. Write down the foods and ingredients you need for those meals. This will be your shopping list. Take that to the store, or give it to the person who shops for you. Then cook and eat. Nothing complicated is needed, just some basic skills and equipment. You can find recipes and cooking tutorials online - google and youtube are great resources.3 -
You can reframe your week. You did walk three times and one time was for an hour. That's pretty good, when you're coming from not doing anything. It takes time to make a habit stick and the research shows that missing a time or so doesn't matter.
I noticed yesterday, when I left my water in the locker and had to go back for it, that my immediate action was to call myself 'stupid'. That's a pretty punishing thing to say when I'm referring to a water bottle. And it's not like I was able to immediately let myself off the hook either. My next statement was "that was dumb of me." Geez. Who gave me the message that if I'm not perfect, I'm defective?
Finally, after trying about three more times, I was able to say, "hmm, I was distracted, and I have 10 more minutes before class."
Reframe. It may not be easy, but it's the road to improvement.2 -
I'm praying for you! I'm proud of your for walking three times and for those durations, no less!1

We all have bad weeks. The positives are that you got out and you were near to your eating goal not over.
I've just had 3 weeks where I have not done as much as I would like, we can get back on it and get to it....
It's raining at home at the moment, but the minute it stops I'm going to walk the canal with the dogs.
Best wishes KB x1 -
Don't be so hard on yourself. Feeling like you have failed would lead to frustration, which is not a good feeling to give into while losing weight. Consistency is the key, and you are being consistent. So you walked around the house, you still walked! So you feel like you ate too much (you didn't), but you still logged! Those are the habits that will take you there. It doesn't matter if what kind of activity you do as long as you commit to staying active. It also doesn't matter if some weeks you eat more than others if you don't eat over maintenance consistently. Don't beat yourself up. Your attitude to do something even if it isn't as perfect as you would want it to be is exactly the right attitude. You don't have to be perfect.. seeking perfection constantly will only breed frustration because nobody can be consistently perfect. You can do this!1

Walking for an hour straight at your current weight is a huge achievement in and of itself! And you say you were never over goal? Then bingo, you're doing great.
Not every week will look the same in terms of calorie intake and exercise but it's the long game with this, don't be so hard on yourself.1
