for the ladies only
sorry guys! just a question for the ladies about what contraception you use. have been told by my doctor that i could go on the injection version (depo provera) and just wondered if any of you had any issues with it. have you had a lot of weight gain? any other side effects? have you found it works for you? i suffer from really bad headaches and occasionally migraines which is why she has suggested it. she also suggested the coil but not so sure about that either. thanks everyone, any suggestions or advice greatly appreciated!!!

I have Mirena and love it0

They tried to fit the Mirena coil in me and it wouldn't fit, then opened up half-way up. Ouch!
I was happily in the combined Pill for decades, was advised to consider changing because of my age and have just swapped to the mini Pill. I'm delaying my verdict as I've not got through a whole month yet, but an unexpected second period was not fun!0 -
The only thing I ever used was the pills. I used to take the active ones everyday for 3 months and then the inactive ones for a week , so I only ended up having my menstrual cycle 4 times a year. (After 2 kids though, I got fixed so I don't use anything now.)0

I too have terrible migraines. I was told I couldnt use the shot because its basically just progesterone, which is the cause for the headaches. Maybe want to confirm that with the dr.... good luck0

Not on anything right now (hubby had a vasectomy), but I used to be on the pill. Worked for me.0

i have the depo jab n i think its perfect 4 me as i dont get periods ever and i get no side effects.I did have the implant but half way through the 3 years i started getting periods so i went back 2 the jab, the reason i have any contraception is 2 stop my periods. i know every1 is different but u could try it 4 the 3 months n c what happens, good luck.x0

The depo jab was the worst thing for me! I gained 5lbs with every jab! My diet was good and I was exercising regularily. By the time I had had 3 jabs I had put on over a stone & the last thing I was interested in was being intimate with my partner which defeated the objective. Hope you have a better experience, good luck X0

I used the NuvaRing for a short time & ended up in the hospital with a blood clot. Now my only option is the copper IUD, which I haven't decided on yet. Any feedback on that would be appreciated! The "spotting" thing concerns me. I'd rather just have a period that I can plan around then never knowing! My friend has had some very embarrassing moments with her Mirina.0

Thanks for the advice ladies. Still not sure what to do and confused about the headache thing (my doctor told me not to go on the pill because of my headaches) but really appreciate the help :flowerforyou:0
