Losing Motivation

Hi,
I'm new to heavy weightlifting - just started 8 weeks ago. I started for two reasons: 1) lose fat and 2) increase stamina (walking to class, etc.). I had an eating disorder several years ago, and I gained back some weight. Since then, I have found it impossible to lose weight through cardio, so I switched to weights.I'm not seeing much change in my body, and I am getting discouraged. How long did it take for people to see results? I don't have that much fat to lose, maybe between 5-10 lbs (I'm 135 lbs right now), but I thought I would see more change by now.

Are you counting calories? I understand if you don't want to due to your past, but you may still need to lower your intake if you aren't losing.0

see results to the eye or see results in the gym (more weight, more reps, etc)? I noticed after a few weeks of heavy lifting that I was getting stronger and could add more weight, but it has taken a lot of strict dieting also to lose fat in order to see visual results (which I still don't have as my fat is still a bit too high).0

I eat about 1,600 calories on days that i don't work out, and 1,800 on days that I do. I also try to eat 100-110 grams of protein per day. I can usually add 5-10 lbs to the bench and squat rack once a week (I alternate legs and upper body and go 4/5 days a week), so Im definitely getting stronger, I just can't *see* the changes0

Your doing a lot of things wrong
Your wanting quick results and that's not going to happen
Just being upfront0
