Bountiful Baskets

Have you guys heard about Bountiful baskets? it is a co-op that brings fruits and veggies to your community for an amazingly great cost. I participate in the co-op here where I live and have not been disappointed. Saturday was our delivery day and I got - 4 apricots, 1 head of cauliflower, 1 pkg of mushrooms, 2 heads of lettuce, 2 bunches of spinach, 1 container of figs, 7 bananas, 2 pears, 5 plums, 1 bunch of broccoli, 5 tomatoes and 1 pineapple all for $15.

Some of the items are organic some are not, you can get a guaranteed organic basket also for $25.

Since I started on my adventure back to being a healthy weight this has really kept my produce budget lower. The produce is purchased from Mexico and where possible local farmers when the produce is in season. On the day of delivery - each site is volunteer run which is amazing and you get to meet others in your community on top of it. bountifulbaskets.org

I belong to a CSA (community supported agriculture farm), which is similar in principle.

In Canada it's hard to find co-ops, but I was always part of it when I lived Stateside...

Canadians looking for something should look for organic delivery services. That's what we list it as. The one I used when I was in Sarnia and London was http://expressorganics.com/home.php
