and I know this is going to take a while... but I took some progress photos last night and don't feel like there's been any change. I've lost about four pounds and my clothes are fitting better, but I don't look any different.

Suddenly, after writing it out, I feel ridiculous for complaining about not seeing a change when it's only been six weeks and four pounds. I think I'll link the photos to you guys to see just in case there's something I'm missing. Also, my lovely photo assistant took the pictures at a different angle, holding the camera differently, so I've almost convinced myself that is the reason I can't see a change.

Photos with the black headband are 'before' .. photos with the hair in a bump in front are from last night:

I don't see a HUUUUGE change, but don't worry! It will come :-)
I didn't notice a change until after I'd lost about 10 lbs. Keep taking the pics! It'll totally help.

Thanks folks - I know I'm being totally impatient. This is usually about the time I get impatient and give up. Thankfully I have MFP to remind me to chill out and keep on truckin'!!

it's def def worth it if you stick it out :-)

just think how amazing you'll feel when it's 14 lbs instead of 4 :-)

6 lbs in 4 weeks is a little over a pound a week. That's exactly what you are supposed to lose.

    Don't fret. You'll get there.

*hugs* I totally get how impatient you are. :-) It's hard when you don't really see the changes. But remember that this is a journey, not a race. The slower you lose it, the more likely it is to stay off. Last year, I lost about 25 lbs in 6 weeks. I gained 15 back. :-( This time, I'm going slow and steady. It's more about feeling good for me now, than it's about losing the most about of weight.

It has been six pounds! Why did I say four? I don't know ... lol... but you're right, that's exactly where I need to be to make this a lifetime change and stick it out.

I'm seriously going to cry. I'm sure it's mostly hormones right now, but this support is awesome. I know I can only do this for me, and it will only happen if I do the work myself, but I do believe that sometimes it takes a village to get a task done. I don't think I could go at this alone and make it really happen.

How long does this awe of MFP last?? I feel like every other day something happens that makes me thank my stars for this website.

Don't forget to take measurements! Those can change even when the scale doesn't. (and especially if you're hormonal) go do some deep, meditative stretching to help the brain and the bod :) You are doing great!

Please don't get discouraged. The key is to be patient with yourself. Set realistic goals and realistic expectations for yourself. Is it realistic that you will see results in 4 weeks that will be easily observed in a photograph or even in the mirror? Probably not. Is it realistic that you won't have a bad day or a bad weekend? Probably not. Is it realistic that if you stick with this you WILL see results? Absolutely! Is it realistic that your self esteem is going to increase the longer you persevere? Absolutely! Is it realistic that you are not alone and others completely understand where you're coming from? Most definitely. Hang in there, you are doing awesome!
