So I am having my time of the month at the moment. I normaly gain up to 8 pounds during this time. I gained like 2 and now the scale is going down? I'm brusing horrible. For example I got bit by a spider i look at it today and its got a half dollar size bruise around it. my legs are bruising in places that don't ever get bumped like my upper thighs . Its not insanely rapid weight loss but i'm down to my starting weight before my tom and I'm just wondering is this normal? I have a history of being anemic so I can explain the bruising away, but with how I have been eating and my time of the month it makes no sense. I ate pizza like 3 pieces for supper yesterday and still dropped a pound... Anyone else experience this?

i'm anemic as well and i bruise VERY easily during TOM. and i've always been wayy hungrier during that time too. my auntie flow is visiting me too and yesterday i ate SO much food fruit, wendy's, more fruit, almonds, ice cream, chips! but i some how managed to stay under goal with all the cleaning i did yesterday (i only logged half what i really did because i feel like logging cleaning is cheating)0

Not the bruising, but definitely weird soreness. I never rely on my weight during TOM. It fluctuates like CRAZY. Just wait a week and see how it looks then.0

Have you talked to a dr (or OBGYN) about a possible vit supplement? I know dietary iron is better, but for me I have noticed when I take my vitamin supplements (small daily under-doses, as I'm "healthy" otherwise) about 1/2 wk before I start / through the week of TOM, I have a much better time (I have very hard periods) that helps keep me in the land of living.
Hope you find some relief!!0 -
Have you thought about taking an iron supplement? Not just taking an iron pill because normally a persons body doesnt absorb enough from the pill for it to be effective. I take liquid chlorophyll for low iron. My midwife turned me onto it when I was pregnant and I continue to take it now!

thats the kind I use, check with a local whole foods store!0 -
can't take iron supplements due to my weak stomach ( long story but ya health wise not good) but have thought about the injections0
