Want friends who are living, not dieting

I read/hear a lot of people who are (in my mind) clearly dieting. They are looking forward to the time they "won't have to eat like this anymore," by which they mean this horrible tasteless food or not being able to have a favorite food. They talk about cheat days. There are other signs but they are along the same lines.
I am trying pretty hard to do this what I consider right. Eating mostly healthy foods, incorporating exercise as I lose weight, and trying to make sure what I am doing is sustainable long-term. Let me know if you are in the same mental place and want a friend.
Note: very few people succeed at anything the first time. I am okay with that, but dieters need not apply.

i have not dieted. i just realised i was eating mostly junk. i changed my eating habits to include healthy foods and to eliminate fried/fatty foods, and i have dropped 30lbs in 4 months.
my biggest problem at the moment is maintaining my weight.1 -
I am not "dieting." I plan to do exactly what I am doing now for the rest of my life. Well not exactly because I expect that once I reach my weight goal, my calorie goal will increase somewhat. But I am eating foods that I will eat for the rest of my life. I am doing activities that I will do for the rest of my life. I intend to log for the rest of my life. My focus is on developing healthy attitudes and connections between food and activity.1

The MFP concept is about lifestyle change, not temporary dieting. The main principle is Calorie Deficit - Calories In vs Calories Out. Therefore it is the quantity of food and the amount of exercise that counts. Not necessarily the type of food.0 -
I am living thanks to my dieting. I learn to love the foods I eat. I learned to cook the way I would enjoy eating. Its all a process. An alcoholic would not be happy being sober, until he/she realizes and learns to live with out it... I have been eating garbage and was getting more and more unhealthy. Being sick is not living - its existing. But by learning to love what you eat and taking care of your self and seeing positive results I feel alive. I feel healthy, and sexy and feel free.1

I'm with you. I've been through many diets before I realized that it is my mind-set that has to change. In addition to the eating smart, I've been focusing on taking care of myself mentally and by doing fun things, getting in touch with nature, spending time with my animals etc. I've also made a commitment to being 100% honest with myself and others even when it sucks to do so. We are all on different paths of the same journey. Today I played Word with an old friend for 2 hrs1

I am not dieting - I'm eating junk food in moderation. Some days have a lot of treats and some days not so much. Add me if you'd like!! My diary is open to my friends.1
