You'd eat it anyway

List a real food that you would eat whether you are trying to lose weight or not, but since you are trying, they make a huge difference because they are so low in calories.
Pickles have 5 calories, tops in them
Thin sliced ham 10 calories a slice
Entire lunch about 150 cal: large salad, drizzled with lemon juice, 1 ounce of chopped chicken breast, sliced red onion, 6 red grapes, two tablespoons hummus
Whipped cream cheese: 60 cal for a tablespoon or two
A bowl of savory chicken soup with large chunks of veggies and rice or potatoes: 150 cal
Olives - 60 cal for a few
Strawberries and a tablespoon of Nutella = decadent desert for less than 150 calories
Shrimp - 12 for under 85 calories
What's on your list?

.. Wait. Do they make a huge difference.. Or don't they? I reread that question 5 times and still couldn't make sense of it.
But my answer is lettuce. I don't know what I'm answering.. But I like lettuce. Plain lettuce. I'm a rabbit.3 -

Meaning, rice cakes are never on the menu for most people unless they are on a diet.
But some things, like a baked potato, are low in calories and something that WOULD be on the menu even if you were not dieting.

Probably why I don't "diet." Because there's no difference between "diet" food and non-diet food. I'm gonna eat what I wanna as long as it fits in my calories.
..but I will eat lettuce no matter what. And I'm just saying, the way I make baked potatoes is definite NOT low in calories. Haha.

I don't know why six grapes makes me so sad when I'll literally take a gram of yogurt out of my bowl to make it the weight I planned to eat.1

I'd do good not to eat a whole pizza. Maybe just a slice. I like the items on your list. I'd rather eat ice than drink water. Sugar free gum also good.0

Probably because it sounds so stingy, like depravation. No worries. I like to eat very low cal during the day so I can have a very hearty meal at night and still lose weight. I'm not as hungry during the day when I'm busy, so it works well for me.0 -

2 tablespoons of hummus is 70 calories. If you skip the grapes, the salad is 126 calories.0 -

That's exactly my point. If you want a cheeseburger, coke and a side of cheese fries, it may be what you want, but you might have a hard time fitting much else in with your calories, and could lead to being hungry. Delicious, low calorie foods help you eat well and give you space on your calorie allowance for more higher calorie foods.

Things I have always eaten, whether losing weight or not:
-Stir-fry. I make so much stir-fry. But that's because I've been making it since I was 13, and I can practically do it in my sleep. Conveniently I get a gigantic dinner packed with veggies for under 500 cals.
-Berries, all of them. Amazing how low-cal and fiber-rich they are. Had no idea until I started logging.
-String cheese. Must be childhood nostalgia.
-Shrimp. My favorite seafood. When it goes on sale I buy 10 lbs and freeze it. That lasts me about a month.
-Spinach. I will eat spinach straight out of the bag. True story: I was wandering around Austin one day with some friends and got hungry, so I dragged them into Whole Foods so I could buy a bag of spinach and snack on it while we hit up 6th Street.
-Bell peppers. I eat them like apples. It freaks people out.
-Wine. If I'm going to drink my calories, wine has the highest satisfaction:calorie ratio out of all caloric beverages.0 -

You know what, though? Slice some cheddar up pretty thin, spread it over the top of a few rice cakes, put them in the oven until the cheese melts, and they're delicious. Quick, easy snack.1 -

Sounds great, if the cheese wasn't sitting on a rice cake.
To each his own.

So from your list, I'm going with the berries and wine. I never thought of the "satisfaction" aspect of the drinking calories. Something to think about.

Chocolate milk begs to differ.0
