Breakfasts or not?

So I know a lot of people frown upon skipping breakfasts. However, when I do have breakfast I tend to eat MORE during the day because I feel hungry all the time. When I do have the "traditional" breakfast, I have it at 8-9 am, then by 12 I'm hungry like hell so I have lunch and then there's what feels like a neverending afternoon of starvation and my snack between lunch and dinner often either turns into another lunch to fill me up or I'm left feeling so damn hungry and have troubles falling asleep. I go to bed at about 11pm normally.

So what I often do is, I have my "breakfast" at 11am, lunch around 2-3pm and dinner around 6-7. I go to sleep around 11pm. I have a small snack between lunch and dinner if I feel like I need one and I'm good to go to sleep without feeling starved. Needless to say my mood is much better as well.

So my question is, are there really any serious downsides to NOT having breakfasts in the traditional sense? Because I feel so much better when I move my eating schedule and fit it all my food in within 11-19 rather than stretching it 8-19 AND it makes it easier for me to stick to my calorie goals.

Check out intermittent fasting. That may be something that will work well for you. Alot of people have great success focusing their food during a set time frame each day.

Well you are having breakfast, it's just at 11am. The time you have it really doesn't matter.

Meal timing is irrelevant. Eat at whatever schedule works best for you in terms of dietary adherence and/or workout performance.

It doesn't matter when you eat, it only matters how many calories in a day, and possibly your macros if you are working toward fitness goals. I, personally, work out before eating breakfast because it makes me ill if I eat too much before exercise. So I drink a pre-workout and/or coffee and work out. Then when finished I cool down and eat a healthy breakfast with plenty of complex carbs/fiber/protein. I then eat a mid morning snack, usually a protein bar, then lunch, dinner, and a late snack if I still need protein or fiber to round out the day.

Eating breakfast is over-rated... like others have already said if you eventually eat at 11 or noon, you're just having a late breakfast.

No downside if you feel good. You are doing one form of intermittent fasting and it is a great way to help regulate calorie intake.

Whenever you have your first meal of the day, that's breakfast... ;-) I normally don't eat anything until after the gym, around 1pm. It works better for me to save my calories for later in the day (and I don't feel bloated during my workout).

I'm contemplating a no breakfast change. I've been using breakfast to fight off early morning hunger, but if I have a little something before bed, it does essentially the same thing. Otherwise, I can put off the first meal until around 10am with just my coffee and 1/2 and 1/2, and can enjoy a bigger lunch and dinner (that I enjoy eating, not just eating because I feel terribly starving). I'm going to start playing with it and see how it goes.
