Hi can anyone let me know how to tell mfp to only give me 1200 calories instead of 1800?

Edit your calories and macros here http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/my_goals

I'm assuming MFP gave 1800 calories to lose weight.. May i ask why you want to eat 600 cals less than this? 1200 is the bare minimum, and in my experience incredibly difficult to stick too.

Yikes, that's what my doctor has me at. I feel great, no good?

It depends, are you really short, old and sedentary? 1200 calories are more suitable for these women.

What are your stats, height, weight, age? How much do you want to lose all up and per week?

Also, if you're not using a food scale to weigh all of your food and just guesstimating and going off food labels, then odds are high that you'd be eating more than 1200 calories anyway. Some doctors set the calorie bar low because they assume their patients will be underestimating their calories.
I have no idea if this is your doctor or not though.

Another note on the food scale.. Weighing all of your food is not a prerequisite for weight loss, it's just a handy tool to have if you want to be as accurate as possible, and is often recommended for people who are not losing weight as expected or have plateaued or are gaining.

I've found 1200 to be quite sustainable. I never feel hungry. My whole day is preplanned, but if I do get hungry, I have a snack and adjust later. You just have to be smart about your food choices to ensure that your nutritional needs are met and there is enough volume to keep you full (veggies, essentially). I'm short and pretty active, my TDEE is ~1700, so 1200 is a deficit of 500, which is 1 pound/week

This is me again. I'm 180, 5'2, 50 years old. I also feel it's quite sustainable, and funny you mentioned, I am going to start weighing my food now, because today was weigh-in, I thought I had a great week, and I lost .2. Feel I should have lost more.
