Some travel, some charity, "righting" some wrongs. I'd also get a personal chef and trainer so I can achieve some physical fitness milestones. I'd also learn to fly.

I would buy a house and all the other cool crap everyone wants. Then a chunk of it I would spend on building compact sustainable housing for the extremely poor in Latin America. I would invest a huge chunk of it too in stocks, bonds, etc.

Give it away. I would never be able to spend/use that much money ever. As nice as it would be to have it, I think there are so many good things that could be done with it. (of course, after paying off our mortgage and helping out our friends and family)

I would quit my job, build a house, book a bunch of trips, and hand out some to friends, family, and charities. Then, put the rest in the bank/investments so it will last the rest of my life!!

I would buy a slightly bigger house (actually, I really just need a basement and laundry room added to the house I have... I don't need a mansion, just some more storage space).

I would buy a motor home. Probably not one of those huge, million dollar deals.. but one around $30,000 for us to take camping.

Then I would find somewhere to put this motor home. On the water.

My boyfriend lived in Florida for 10 yrs and wants to go back -- I want to live in Dutch Harbor Alaska -- I might need homes (modest ones -- like just slightly larger than the one we currently have!) in both places. :) Summer in Dutch, winter in Florida.

I'd buy a new car. Mine is a 1999 and while it still runs great, I'd like something new.

My husband and I talk about what we would do if we ever won a huge jackpot. It's nice to dream since we both know it will probably never happen. We would pay off all our debt, and our immediate families debt. Get new vehicles for us and our families. Each pick a charity and donate to it. Oh and I would love to do some traveling. Ahh, wouldn't it be nice.

I'd use it to create companies that would help create jobs. People need to work. Just my two cents!

pay off debts, donate a chunk to my charit(ies) of choice, and then...
whatever the hell i wanted :)

edit: honestly, i've thought of this before and i think i would pay my debts, set aside a cool million for myself, and then dole out the rest to charities and those i love who are in need. i don't want to quit working, and i don't want to become a waste of resources. With an even million, i could build plenty more and live quite comfortably and working would simply be a way to give back and pass the time.

The very first thing I would buy would be a 68 Camaro!!
  • I would build my dream house (nothing huge, but with plenty of space for a couple more kids). I"d want a big gourmet kitchen and a gym with my own chef and trainer. I would buy (or pay off) houses for all immediate family and friends who deserve it. I would also get them all a new car. I would build my hubby his dream garage and buy him his dream car. I would pay off all of our debts, and give a nice chunk to charity. Then I'd put the rest away for our kids' educations and whatever else we'd need.

I would buy a bespoke built Octagon house in the UK, a lake house in Ontario (my Husband is Canadian) a Jaguar XJ in indigo with cream calf leather interior, a morgan and a range rover. I would buy my three children homes and cars and set up trust funds for them, I would make sure my friends and family were secure and wanted for nothing. I would donate a large sum to our local hospice in memory of my late Mum who passed away there, I would donate to the breast cancer charity in her name also, I would buy a specialist incubator for our local neonatal unit and fund it and a nurse in memory of my sister who died there and I would go on many trips, support many charitable things and also have lipo, botox, a boob lift and a tummy tuck, be pampered and polished and bronzed and dressed fabulously and enjoy my life, see the world and do things I have only dreamed of.

I'd probably start a business building these:

    https://www.facebook.com/SmythPerformance

I also have some other inventions that I would love to build.
Buy a decent house with a gym and a shop where I can do the first two items..
Buy my grandma's house back, fix, and allow my mom to live there rent free.
Buy my in-law's house with the condition that my wife's brothers move out.
Probably put my best friend through school and tell him to continue on.

Rest would go into savings, bonds, etc.

Quit my job, buy a house, buy a new car. Put a BA gym in my house and stock up on healthy food, get a pedicure once a week.

I would take my son to Disneyworld and spare no expense. After all of that I would invest, save and go back to school out of boredom.
