for those who work out at home

for those who work out at home what is the best piece of home fitness equiptment you have ever bought?

For me it was a power rack instead of cobbling together squat stands.

    Squat rack, TRX and insanity program it took awhile to accumulate everything but it gives for some variety.

    It's really not a matter of buying just 1 piece of equipment.

    The power rack is useless w/o a barbell and a wide variety of plates (1.25, 2.5, 5, 10, 15, 25, 45 & 55, plus less than #1 fractional plates) and a bench (preferably adjustable). Then you need a rack to to hold all the plates. That would be the bare minimum you'd need for a basic home gym.

    I have all of the above but I also consider my Sissy Squat and GHD Racks, eliteFTS Safety Squat Yoke Bar, T-grip Curl Bar and Arm Blaster Support Bar, and Concept 2 rower to be essential equipment as well.

    Couldn't do a complete body workout without all of this equipment. So, I don't think any of them is "better" (or less useful) than the other.

    Pair of adjustable dumbbells. They were fairly expensive, but for the convenience and quality I have no complaints. I'm extremely weak so I won't need to upgrade any time soon (silver lining I guess).

    Probably dumbbell handles and plates. They were the gateway to getting a barbell to use the plates on and eventually getting more into lifting weights.

    Body weight, resistance band, medicine ball & kettle ball. As much as I go to the boxing gym and weight gym. These does all for me at home or anywhere else!

    It's going to sound odd but my resistance bands! I mean I love my barbell, plates, dumbbells, cable machine, etc. But I have learned to do so much with my resistance bands, they are awesome!

    I use body weight, 25lb dumbbells and my resistance band. The resistance band has been the best purchase so far, it's very versatile and keeps me toned but of course it's not going to add huge amounts of muscle.

    My pole. I get the most use out of it. My resistance bands, yoga mat, and TRX were a good investments. I just don't use them as often as my pole. I use that weekly. I actually lent my TRX to my sister b/c it was just collecting dust. I used to use it regularly, but once I got my pole it fell by the wayside.

    Just a pull up bar. Lasted through one move, and costed around 20 bucks. I use it all the time and have had it so long I even had to retape the grip pad.

    #1 If I could only have ONE piece of equipment from my home gym then it would probably be my trap bar, including weight plates of course.
    I have a little home-built stand for deficit deadlifts if I want some extra range of motion.

    #2 That would be followed by my SS Yoke Bar for squats - including the power rack (pull-ups/chins) and weight plates.

    #3 If you are talking cardio, then a good beaded jump rope can be bought for $20 and you will not outgrow it.
    A good rope doesn't take much space, but you need some ceiling room.
    Few people really jump rope (HIIT, boxer style) these days because it is too much like hard work and there is no gimmick to sell.

    Power rack with accompanying barbells/plates/clips, etc. After that it would be the flat bench and the adjustable bench.

    You all seem to have power racks. Jealous! No space here for it, but I wouldn't buy it, I could do it myself with welding for very cheap as I have material around the house.
