Hello, I'm thirty one and sooo sick of being fat! I finally went to my doctor and am now on a medically supervised diet. I started January 5th. I have lost 8lbs as of this friday (jan 23) and I have 62 more to go. The weekends are the hardest for me. At home with my kids. So weekends are kind of lax for me. but I make it up during the week. Any suggestions for weekend sabotage would be appreciated..
Glad everyone here is on the same boat as me.. makes things alot easier! and This website is the coolest thing since sliced bread!! mmmm bread! I sure miss eating that!

Here's the advice I got when I got here that I loved...
1. before you eat input what you are about to eat so you know the calories, etc. that you will be eating
2. Find something else to do other than eat. (play with the kiddies, knit, run around the house)
3. Figure out what your triggers are for eating and avoid avoid avoid! Bored? pop in an excersize dvd or talk with the kids... Lonely? Call a friend and have them pop over for tea.
and
4. (and most important) Never never give up. Each day is new and each day you are stronger for being here and focusing on losing the weight!
YOU CAN DO IT!!! :flowerforyou:0 -
Congrats on the weight loss you have had so far! I am new to this site myself been here only 5 days. It is trully an inspirational site as I have drawn alot of motivation from here. I have lost 3 lbs this week! I know it is because I have been off my diet for awhile and I won't always lose 3 a week, but I am psyched about it!!!!!!!!!! The people the tools and all are just wonderful here. As for the weekends, I am kinda flax too, but one thing I will do, is save calories, fat and etc. for my favorite meal of the day- dinner. I will cook for the family breakfast (my men have got to have something cooked) and I will have granola, cereal, or a smoothie. For lunch I will have a light snack and that usually leaves me tons of calories and fat left to enjoy a really nice dinner. Good luck, I hope I was of some help.0

Welcome to MFP! You will really love it here! I find myself doing better since I am held accountable to so many other people. Join a team or a fitness challenge and you can be held accountable too and I think it makes you work harder! You don't want to let anyone down that way. It just seems to work out so much better for me. Good luck to you on here! Have fun and lose weight!

Welcome we're glad to have you!:flowerforyou:
I eat 6 meals a day and on weekends I try to stick with that but I may combine calories differently. Like during the week I try to keep them even but dinner is a little larger so the final meal after dinner is smaller before bed. On weekends if I am going out I may eat smaller meals to conserve calories but I always plan it out. Honestly, now that I know what I have calorie wise and allow myself to have whatever, I find myself making much better choices. Weirdly enough my weekends are usually my lowest calorie days because I save those calories for the special meal and then don't order what I thought I would because when faced with the menu I don't order the fat laden foods I used to when I ate out. I now choose something just as delicious but not as high in fat and calories. I used to snack all day long on weekends, now with the six meals I don't even want to snack in between because I am always full from the meals which are about 3 hours apart. Good Luck!!!:drinker:
