Yesterday's at the NC State Fair I broke my thumb on one of the rides. The pain pills I am on are draining me of all my energy. I have been doing pretty well since starting back with MFP and I don't want this to derail me. Anyone been in a similar situation?

You can still stick to your calorie deficit, that will not derail anything.. when the pain subsides cut back on the pain pills and get back to your normal self.

If you are really struggling you could cut your deficit and aim for a slower rate of loss for a while, I did this when I injured myself earlier in the year.

Use other modalities for pain control such as heat, ice, elevation, distraction and rest. Use non-narcotic pain meds like acetaminophen or ibuprofen.

It'd been one day. Don't start looking for excuses.

If you are going to be much less active maybe switch your activity level to sedentary (if it is not already) and just eat the calories you are given for that.
