Losing weight is never fun, but it can be fulfilling! It can be very frustrating but once you find out what works for you, it actually can be interesting, and a source of pride. I've lost over 40 pounds and I still have a hard time believing it, but it hasn't been easy, and I still have a ways to go, but I've learned so much - how to eat - how to exercise - that I have a new confidence I never had before.
But in the beginning, I exercised my hiney off, and almost starved myself to death, and was still gaining weight! I thought, what's the point? Why am I putting myself through this hell if nothing is changing? Slowly but surely, I started to see changes, so I kept with it. I started exercising as much as I could, and I joined MFP and found that if I keep track of what and how much I eat, I can lose weight.
Now everyone is different, but probably most people will tell you they too had a hard time in the beginning, so you are not alone. What at first seems impossible is an illusion. It's okay to feel sad, but please don't let that stop you. Keep with it, because in the end, it's worth it. I'm 54, and was overweight most my life. So if, at my age, I can do it, I'm betting you can too! Good luck!0
