16:8 and hormones

Hi, I've recently started the 16:8 intermittent fasting program and am just wondering if there are some women on here who have experienced hormone imbalance and disrupted periods on this eating schedule? I have recently read an article and am concerned that fasting might affect my fertility. Any feedback would be great, thanks in advance

I am not a woman however from my research into IF, I don't think that a 16 hour fast is long enough to disrupt hormones. It is more likely to be your calorie deficit, causing any issues. If you are concerned go and see a doctor as any advice on here is not medically backed.3

I have been intermittently fasting for months and have.seen no issues whatsoever. My fasting window is even slightly longer, 17 to 18 hours each day. My periods have always been fairly regular and with birth control almost down to the minute.1

I eat this way normally by default.. So to answer your question, no.
You might want to entertain the idea of dropping this method if it does not suit you, or if you are having specific issues not related to food, schedule/timing of food, seek the advise of your doctor.0 -
I usually dont eat after 7pm and can easily not eat again until 11/12+pm lunch the next day. My weekends are usually like this.
I used to never eat breakfast in my younger days.
I never had a hormonal or cycle imbalance.

This.
There is some evidence that fasting affects females differently than it does males. This article links to a few different studies. Bottom line, pay attention to how it works for you, personally. Don't ignore signs that it isn't a good fit for you. While IF is a handy eating schedule for some people, it's not a good fit for everybody.0 -
