Resistance bands

I was looking at the various strength training exercise lists. What do they mean by 'pulley'? And would you equate this to a resistance band?
If not, what would you equate it to? Lifting 5lb free weights? I'm just getting back into this kind of exercise, so any help would be, well helpful.

Let me clarify my question. I will be using resistance bands. But, they don't show anything for that.

What lists are you looking at?

Certain machines at the gym use pulley systems. Those are not the same as resistance bands but you could replicate some of the movements with the bands.

I'm not certain what you are trying to do with the information you are requesting. Are you trying to log calories for your resistance band exercises or are you just trying to log them to keep track of them?

MFP's exercise lists have things like bent over arm lifts - dumbells. Or using machines I guess is what pulleys use. So, to log them for both calorie burn as well as reps, I'm not sure which would be best to use.

If the question is how to log them, strenght training logging on MFP is so you can keep a diary, it will not calculate burned calories for you, you will have to input this under cardio, where you will not go into this kind of detail anyway. If you are interested in logging them as a diary, you can just add your own entries.

Great, thanks. I guess that's really what I was getting at, but as usual, not explaining myself properly.
