Working out while sick?

So, it's that beautiful time of year when everyone around me starts getting sick...
..and then gets me sick.

I'm currently just feeling pretty lethargic, not really wanting to do anything but sleep..but I'm a little bit concerned about not working out for the next few days? I'm unsure of whether to push my body or to just listen to it and let it rest (for 3 -5 days)...but, if I do let it rest, will I gain weight (I don't count calories, I just eat "clean")?

Thoughts?
(p.s sorry for the bad English - not my first language)

I think that being 'afraid' of not working out for a few days is disordered thinking and maybe you should take a look at that.

As long as I'm not contagious (running a fever), normally go and work out even when I am sick. I just don't hit the gym as hard.
I really believe it helps me get over illnesses quicker.

well it all depends on how you feel really. I am also sick this week thanks to my boyfriend, not much just stuffed/runny nose and headaches because of it. I decided i didn't want to miss my runs and i did both on monday and today.Monday was harder, i was slower etc, today it was better, and friday it will be even better i'm sure. I wouldn't go out if i had a fever, or a bad cough or something like that.
You can still work out if you want to, but maybe not push as hard as you normally would.Or do what you normally would and if you don't feel good, stop and go home. Or take a couple of days off and sleep. You will not gain weight if you don't workout for a week.

My kids got sick this last week and then me too--bad cough. I did not have a fever/aches, so what I did was I still did my abdominal core exercises (strength exercises using my own body weight on the floor), and then I just watched for times of day when my coughing had subsided. I was coughing so much first thing in the morning when I would normally go for my exercise walk, so I didn't go then, but would do it at random times during the day, and not as fast because I was congested.

And I didn't see alarm in being "afraid" not to work out for a few days. For me, it's the difference in 300-400 calories per day, so unless I'm going to radically cut my already-low calories, I don't want to give up that exercise because I eat back the calories! :)
