Did anyone take and Oral Communications class in college and if so what do you exactly do? I'm very shy and I dont like speaking in front of people but I have to take this class my first term of school which starts tomorrow.

You have to speak in front of the class. If possible, take a group oral communications class, that way you aren't just by yourself.0

Well you may want to get over the talking in front of people thing..just being honest..was and is still a bit hard for me..especially when not using cliches
Good luck and Im sure you can still get a good grade even without doing spectacular in a speech. Theres other work to be done I would think.0 -
We had to write a total of 4 speeches during the semester. The first one was just introducing yourself. The next 3 you have to present an issue and argue it. There is really nothing to be nervous about. Basically you get up there, give your speech (you can reference notes), your teacher will time you, and then you'll be done. Our teacher sometimes asked follow up questions but not often. And trust me, no one really pays attention in class (or at least they didn't in mine) and everyone is nervous anyways so you know you're not alone. But really, don't worry, it was an easy class.0

We had to write/present 3 speeches. I don't remember what the topics had to be (Its been 8 years since I graduated). I took mine the first semester, just to get it over with because I was super nervous about that class. Turned out it wasn't that bad... Good luck!0

Ohhh you are a freshman? well don't worry, the teachers go easy on you freshman year, but after that they expect you to up your game. Especially since it's a required course the teacher probably won't be tough. Good luck!0
