Water, 64oz/day or 1/2 weight in oz?

So I was always told to drink 6oz (8-8oz glasses) of water a day but now these past few week I read you're actually suppose to drink 1/2 your body weight in oz of water to lose weight. Is this true? If so, i should drink 108oz which I have hit a few days. I now keep an ice bottle at my desk and refill it as I drink the ice down since I can't stand cool water, it MUST be cold where before I would just stop at the bubbler for a sip maybe 2-3 times a day.

Drink enough water throughout the day.. basically till your pee is pale/straw yellow.. that's it.
you can eat your water too (fruits, veggies count), also diet soda, coffee, tea, juice, crystal light, powerade, propel, you name it counts too. does not matter if its luke warm, cool or cold.1 -
Drink till you're hydrated.1

Okay, So another question. I drink way more than half my body weight in water a day. I usually have half my body weight in by 4pm. I feel like I get headaches if I don't drink way more than I am supposed to. Is this okay? Am I too hydrated?0

There's no rule...just stay hydrated
8x8oz per day is a just a generalized recommendation and a good enough place to start...from there you can see if you need more.0 -
