I'm thinking about getting a treadmill but second hand (probably off eBay). Budget is tiny and space is limited and I'm seeing loads of manual ones going for next to nothing. Thing is, I'm a bit concerned about it using my momentum to get it going. I've only ever used the motorised ones in gyms. Are they difficult to use or am I just being silly? Or should I just twist my hubby's arm and see if we can increase my budget to get a motorised one.

I had a manual treadmill for many years and it served me well. Difficulty has to do with the angle at which you set it, incline I mean. In some ways I think is was better than the huge electric one I have now. I could really moderate my pace and push myself. Now I turn on the machine and read as I walk...not at all as intense.0
