Hungrier Now Than at Beginning??

Options
Ok so I am focused on low carb, high(er) fat diet and at the beginning i would eat around 1400 calories a day and was never. Hungry. Now I've noticed I'm eating more (same foods) and avg calories is around 1800!! Why would I be more hungry now than at beginning of my diet?? I'm so close to goal weight (4.8 lbs) I want to stay strict but I'm SO hungry!! Think breastfeeding has something to do!!? Maybe baby eating more? Haven't noticed he is..

How old is your baby? If your baby is nursing more while in a growth spurt, you'll require more calories too.

My biggest question is your were breastfeeding only on 1400 calories?

I bet your hunger hormones are all over the place to be honest.

Yeah I would literally eat tablespoons of peanut butter at the end of the day to try and get more than 1400 calories.. now I feel like I could constantly eat!

So would you not restrict calories if baby is going thru growth spurt?? Just eat low carb until I'm satisfied even if calories are >1800??

Possibly hormone related. Really no idea about breastfeeding.

I did end up way hungrier as I got closer to my goal though (2.5 years later and I still haven't reached it, so yeah).

It is normal as you get leaner. Can't link to it right now but Lyle McDonald talks/writes about the need for refeeds or breaks increasing in frequency as we get leaner.

Peanutbutter would always make me crave more food for some reason, I kicked the spoon dipping because of this.
