I've heard that Polar FT7's and up, and the BodyBugg's are good!
I don't use one personally, but if I were to buy one, those would be the ones I looked at!0 -
I love my polar ft7 - does everything i want and need0

I love my Polar F11 - I'm not sure they do that model any more but any Polar HRM is a worthwhile investment. Mine lets you plan out your workout schedule, set whether you want to maintain, increase or maximise your fitness and it gives you rewards if you reach your exercise goal for the week (it's only a little pixelated trophy but it's still great to see!)
I use it exactly in the way you describe - in the gym to track my calories burned.
Check out the Polar website at: http://www.polarelectro.co.uk/uk-en0 -
Thank you very much guys!
Ive had a check out of the polar website, nice ranges also just what im looking for, a tad on pricy side but it will definetly be worth while investment0 -
i would recomend the ft40 over the ft4/7 , as it has a vo2 max input.0

Actually the FT7 does use Vo2max from what I've read in the manual.. it's just not advertised and you can't manually change it or see what it is.
With that being said, Polar is a great brand.. I love my FT7. It's easy to use/set up.. and the strap is really comfortable. I got mine for 79.99 off of drugstore.com.0 -
For indoor use I have the polar ft4 it's perfect, has a chest strap, it's femenine and petite
For outdoor to track my running, I use the 4runner 305,it's big but is great for outdoor, it won't calculate calories indoors because it's does not get the gps reading, so that is why I got the ft2 for indoors.0 -

Yeah that is correct, sorry i meant to say manual input, i have a low resting heart rate so it totally throws the Polar own Cal system out of sync, so i neede to input my vo2 manually.
Either way most of the polar range seem pretty good.0
