Loosing weight after hysterectomy

Hi all, I am just starting this MFP journey. Dealing with weight gain from hysterectomy over a year ago and PF. Its hard to exercise until my PF heals so for now I am just doing the calorie counting thing and will start adding in some yoga. I ponder how hard it will be for me since I have read so much on the difficulty of loosing weight post hysterectomy. If anyone out there has been successful I would love to hear your stories for motivation. I look forward to getting to know people and hopefully gain some accountability and support along the way!

Not my experience, buy my mom's. She got the same surgery you had.

Before that, she was extremely ill because her periods literally lasted a month, and she had to eat lots so she wouldn't die from anemia. Of course she was incredibly overweight and miserable.

After the surgery she had to stay in bed for 40 days (more like roaming the room while binge watching every series and movie, but I'm sure you know what I mean). Since she wasn't so ill anymore, just recovering from surgery, she started taking care of what she ate (no drastic restriction, nothing weird), and lost like 20kg. She had changed so much she was afraid her coworkers would think she went through a liposuction instead of a hysterectomy.

I had a hysterectomy 3 yrs ago due to 2 golf ball sized tumors. It was awful. But I healed and 2 months later ran a Tough Mudder. I crossfitted for 1 yr prior and lost a lot of weight. Now I'm 38 and working my butt off to get back. IT. IS. HARD. It's frustrating and I hate it. But I'm not giving up.
