Toning after/during weight loss

SO I've lost weight before but have never really toned up and builthe muscle to the extent I would like.
Now I'm finally back on the fitness band wagon I'd like to go all in his time.
Any tips or ways to start

Tip one ..avoid using the word "tone" on here, you won't like some of the responses even though everyone knows what you mean
It's a result of right body fat (eat at a calorie defecit over time) and sufficient muscle (progressive resistance) ..to hit your body aesthetic

Thanks for the reply I did question when I used the word tone if I'd get squished on it lol. Hence why I also said build muscle.1
