Who's your best supporter and why?

I've had some good and not-so-great accountabilibuddies along my weight loss journey, and am looking for tips on what traits make a good accountabilibuddy. How do you go about finding them? How does your supporter check in on you? Any advice is much appreciated!

I am my biggest supporter, because at the end of the day I am doing this for me. I haven't found any external support beneficial. But maybe I just haven't found the right support person.

I'm my own best buddy. Nobody can do this for me.

I agree with the others. I am my best supporter. Yes. MFP is a very useful and supporting tool. I keep my head in the game by logging in and lurking around. The "You just hit your X goal" from the food diary is nice. Winning/competing in FitBit challenges and getting vibrations when I reach my 10k step goal are also encouraging and make healthy living easier. However, none of this means a thing if I don't actively make these tools work in my favor. I use my own internal motivators to maintain my weight. I actually started my weight loss without any support from FitBit and MFP. I just made an honest effort to eat less and move more, using my desire and determination for health to push me through.

Great points about being your own support buddy! I find that when I journal every day it keeps me accountable to myself. Still wondering if anyone has experienced a helpful buddy in their journey...
