Just returned from vacation and lost weight, the first time very. For breakfast I had two chobani yogurts and one apple. I skipped the bread which contrary to what others might say, bloats me up. There is something about my body and wheat.

Try swapping out the french fries for smashed potatoes, and have extra vegetables.

I am not a fan of eating salads away from home - just do not think that the salad is washed properly, even if it is marked triple washed on the packet.

Nobody is telling you to think about weight loss 24/7. We are telling you to spend 5 to 15 minutes a day planning ahead. If you are truckers you are delivering loads to specific places and thus are following directions to get there, likely routes that you have reviewed ahead of time. If you want to lose weight, you have to plan ahead too. Look ahead to see where you'll be tomorrow and decide what foods would be good choices.

Write down what you normally eat and eat less of it. You know in your heart of hearts that the way/amount you eat is the problem so work on fixing that. Focus on the low hanging fruit like double fries, etc. and the rest will follow.

OP, just eliminating the sweet tea and replacing it with a low or no cal option (water, diet soda, crystal light, etc) would help you cut out a big chunk of daily calories. As for fast food meals, just order small fries instead of large, eat one burger instead of two, etc. If you can, try to snack on some veggies or fruit in between meals.

Everyone i appreciate the tips. I acted in hast but I felt ambushed I should have said not attacked. I do research the restaurants and grocery stores in the area as soon as I have a moment to. My mind is on my husband's safety most of the time instead of myself or my health. We lost a crew member 2 weeks ago. AGain I apologize.

It's truly CICO! At chicken places, I get one breast and a Diet Coke.Ive gotten a lot of wierd looks from cashiers.Im 5 foot tall and just don't need much.Portions are just too large for us women.

If you are able to, I would recommend checking Wal-marts and stuff to see if you can find a single-burger electric stove. They are portable, so you can take'm with you to other hotels! This way you can have quick & easy meals, too. Cook up your own eggs, etc. Usually can clean a small pan easily in a hotel room, just make sure it is cool & emptied of food chunks before you do. Fresh, "home-cooked" food!

I thought the idea of packing a cooler and warm travel bag was good idea, but I guess not!

I finally got to stop traveling for my company 4 years a go, and the planning does suck, like @jemhh said there is a small amount of planning and when you do it for just a short while, planning to be on the road, is no different than planning to be at home..

Get creative with how you want to eat and pack that cooler with yogurt, cheese/string cheese, sandwiches, fruits, raw veggies, and add in some things like trail mix, chex mix and other nut mixes.. make zip lock bags (weighed an logged on your diary) ready to grab..

When you get into town, there will be grocery stores and truck stops along the way. I found that beef jerky was pretty good thing to eat on the road, even things like pork skins (this might be gross to others) but it works..

OP you will figure it out.. good luck.

Shirataki noodles [0-30 cals per bag], just rinse them ahead of time. I throw in some peanut sauce [tsang brand has a good one] and hot sauce. Bam, all good, delicious when heated.

    Chicken breasts.

    Stir fried veggies.

Pretty much anything you'd normally cook. Just keep in mind you gotta clean it up after.

[edit; You can do your own burgers this way, too]

All of these should be limited to dinner choices, unless you don't mind eating less for supper.

Have you ever logged these meals, OP?
]A 4 finger chicken finger plate from zaxbys with doubles french fries and extra texas toast with a large sweet tea.
Decrease the French fry serving (no doubles). No extra toast. Have a sweet tea sweetened with sweetener instead of sugar. Add a garden salad. Try for a baked crispy chicken meal is possible and limit condiments.
Captain ds 3 piece fish dinner double fries and large sweet tea.
No double fries. Opt for grilled fish or baked crispy if it is an option. Add a salad. Drink the sweet tea with sweetener or have a diet drink. Limit condiments
TRiple cheeseburger and large fries with large sweet tea from McDonald's.
A big mac has slightly less calories, but the triple cheeseburger isn't too bad if this is for dinner. Have a small fry instead, a garden salad and a diet drink.
Taco bell nachos, mini shredded chicken quesdilla, bean burrito and large sweet tea.
Once again, those sweet teas are very calorific. Either opt for one larger burrito, or if you want variety, go for 2 smaller ones.
If i get something from grocery store its processed microwave dinners like hungry man.
There are more nutritious options from the supermarket such as barbecue chicken as well as other dinners. Look around the frozen dinner isle or even the deli section.
Sometimes i will eat fruit with a natural peanut butter sandwich with health nut bread. BUt then it seems like im starving. If i eat breakfast its a sausage biscuit and 2 hashbrowns.
How about jerky? Good protein. Also, supermarkets do have cooked meats and meals. Load up on veggies with your proteins. Also, there are many ready to drink protein shakes as well as packaged nuts, protein bars, breakfast bars and drinks.

As for the meals above, make sure there is only one of them per day. Drink lots of water throughout the day (which will help you cut down on the huge sweet tea) and fill up on veggies and fruit. Bulk all your meals with veggies (even breakfast alongside fruit) It is very possible that you're hungry due to low fiber.

What about using a Crock-Pot/slow-cooker? I saw a post somewhere, maybe Pinterest, where a mom would plug here Crock-Pot into the car and have her meal cooking and ready for kids after school activities. I know they make refrigerators/coolers that plug into vehicles(think camping)

You sound stressed. Adding dieting to that may be a recipe for failure start with small changes. Try diet sweet tea or even half and half tea. Do that for a week or two then start swapping fries for salad, or small fry aND a salad. Choose light dressings and use half or less of the packet. Once that stuff is comfortable, then look at logging etc. Even tiny changes add up over time.

I triple agree with the previous posters about the sweet tea. My family is all about sweet tea. My husband used to be able to drink a gallon pitcher of it a day. Once we realized how many calories were in the cup of sugar we'd use for that gallon, he stopped. When he stopped drinking the sweet tea he lost weight right away. If you can find a low calorie sweetener to sweeten your am own, that would help.

I know it seems overwhelming but I promise no one is trying to ambush you.

Try buying bags of apples or other fruits that you can go to of you get hungry after a meal. Popcorn with no added butters are another good choice. Try snacking on string cheese or almonds, since you don't like eggs, for some added protein. My mother in law drives a cattle feed trunk for a living and is driving around feeding cattle all day. These are snacks she goes to. I think you should definitely log all the foods you normally consume for a whole week to see how many calories you are actually taking in. If what you mentioned is a typical day, that you will guaranteed be gaining a lot of weight if you don't adjust your intake. Remember, healthy is nice, but less calories is key. Don't just take away all the things you like. Either find healthier alternatives that are less calories (grilled chicken strips vs. breaded), or try and rotate the foods around so you are not depriving yourself.

At first when you restrict your calories, you will be hungry. The first two weeks are hell, but as your stomach shrinks and your body adjusts, you will get to where you can consume less and be full.
