strength training and metabolism repair

I'm a 21 year old female, weaning off a vlcd of 2-3 months. I lost 20 lb to that. Such diets they slow down your metabolism, right? So should I try doing squats to help boost metabolism? How many should I do?

OP have you been increasing your cals yet? And why just squats? Is this a serious question?????

yes I've increased my cals to a 1000 and gonna add 100 weekly now

Why not try to do a strength training program meant to help you out besides just squats.
