Hey guys!
So I've struggled with my eating disorder for about 8 years now and after going into rehab I gained a ton of weight. Ironically I was on mfp a few years ago to keep track of my calories while I was basically starving myself. But now I'm at my highest weight by far, and I'm finally ready get back to a sustainable weight in a healthy, moderate way.
I'd love to meet people who've been through similar struggles for some support.

You can do it! I have been on a life long struggle with food. From hiding food in my bedroom when I was a kid, to anorexia in HS and part of college (with an attempt at bulimia in HS that failed and ultimately made me even more depressed), to simply binge eating. I still struggle with the last one a bit and when I diet, I always make sure I am getting enough calories in case I hit another bump in the road and bad habits and emotions come back.
Make sure you find your middle ground. It is way easier and you are more likely to maintain. Have a plan and stick to it. Make diet and fitness goals. Know that you are unlikely to stick to them 100% so don't give up if you have a bad day. Also know that weight loss is not linear. So if you hit a few weeks of no loss (or even going up a tad), don't give up. Just make adjustments and move on. You can do it!1 -
Thanks for your response! Yeah I think my biggest struggle will be trying not to revert back to bad habits if I have a bad day. I definitely have a huge all or nothing mentality. So I think my first goal is to really try to change that mentality and find a middle ground.0

It is so difficult dieting as a former eating disordered person. I find myself fighting my old ways every now and then. For the most part now I am now able to identify when I am being too restrictive or too hard on myself.
Good luck with your healthy living and healthy weight loss journey.0 -
Hi there! I've also struggled with disordered eating for the past five years; anorexia in 2011-12 and bulimic tendencies in 2014-16. My weight has also fluctuated greatly, spanning ten BMI points in my adolescence. I'll add you as a friend and we can help each other!!0
