I'm on medication and lose weight just fine. You may have to be a little more specific.

Not all types of medications cause weight gain and depending on the type of medication you're on there are a number of different ways to manage those side effects.

Medication I am taking is Lovan

That's odd I checked the side effects for that and weight gain is not one of them. In fact loss of appetite and weight loss are supposed to be side effects.

Luckily all you need to do to lose weight is be in a caloric deficit (consume fewer calories than you burn)

You didn't mention yet what you've been doing to try to lose weight. Have you been using myfitnesspal to track calories and eating within your calorie goal? Because that's all it should take. Exercise and eating adequate protein should help too but the calories is the must important thing- have you been doing that?

Usually when medications cause "weight gain" it is that they increase your appetite. If you count calories and eat at a deficit you can still lose weight. You might just have more trouble with hunger.

You can lose on meds. DW was on a couple that promised weight gain. She's lost 55 pounds by CICO.
