calorie discrepancy

I just purchased a fit bracelet and did an hour of zumba today. The bracelet said I burned kcal95; however, if I put that time in myfitnesspal, it says 694 calories burned. Which one is correct? 95 calories seems a little low for one hour of Zumba.

MFP notoriously overestimates calorie burns. If you set up your bracelet properly, it's at least closer to accurate (though they vary in accuracy depending on brand and type). We tend to think exercise burns many more calories than it actually does because we overestimate intensity based on how it "feels." I encourage you to look up the MET (metabolic equivalent table) and the formula for using it properly to estimate exercise burns.

Thanks avskk...Well, no wonder I am eating more than I should...LOL.
@Noel, It also monitors calories burned by doing a particular exercise.

95 calories would not be correct.. you would burn more than 95 calories in an hour going for a VERY slow walk.. maybe yours is faulty??

I use my fitbit for earned calories. After wearing it a few weeks it balanced out and has been pretty accurate. I found MFP over estimates by a lot. My fitbit gives me 150-250 calories for doing Insanity workouts based on Intensity and length, and MFP was estimating over 400 each work out for me.

If its not coming up correctly, is there a way to input it into the app. I know with my fitbit if something doesn't track, I can log it in the app.
