Why is my daily goal for fiber so low?

My goal is only 14g of fiber. Isn't this really low? I'm already at 26g for today and I've only logged through lunch. Where does MFP get it's figures from?

It's based on a percentage of your total calories. The recommendation is about 25g for a 2000 calorie diet. It's proportionally reduced with your reduced total calories.0

^^^ What she said. But there are alot of debates on fiber in the medical community (not one here.... yet) and as long as you arent overly bloated or constipated (types of fiber back you up instead of helping you go) you should be fine. Now if your tummy is distended/bloated, trying to reduce your fiber intake slightly may help.0

You only need more fiber if you are going High on your Protein0

I still think 14g are too low. Eating 2 Fiber One bars puts me at 18 and I'm already over the limit. How do you NOT eat fiber??
Oh, and I thought eating whole grains was the way to go.0 -
Fiber isn't really something that needs limiting.
That goal is probably a minimum not a maximum.0
