I started this journey on June 22, 2016. I weighed in at 278. Now I am at 241.8. I went to my Dr today. She was amazed. She is leaving me to move to a different city. i have been with her through gall stones, colon cancer and raising 2 kids to graduating teenagers. She says I amaze her thru everything. I survived colon cancer and took it like a champ. Now this journey of weight loss she is so proud of me. I lost 36.2lbs, my blood pressure went from 140/86 to 112/70. She wanted to check my cholesterol level which was borderline high before but I wanted to wait for a year to have a go at it. She told me the ideal weight loss goal is 10% of my body weight over 6 months. So she said by June of next year I should lose at the most 24#. I can understand that but I lost 36.2 in 6 months and I didn't kill myself, not that I am trying to. I am working out daily and watching what I am eating by tracking it on here. I have a new goal of 200 by June 22, 2017. It will be about 33 weeks from today and I figured if I work I can get it down about 1.25lbs per week. I will do this and I will keep it up. My ultimate goal is far away but I want this and I know I can do it. Look where I am now. I'm not looking for friends on here. I am only putting this out there. I will not give up. My son graduates from the Army in 3 weeks and I will be there surprising him so much. Proud of him and feeling very proud of myself for this.

You should be very proud, keep it up. Her advice on slow weight loss is solid. While you are losing you should be educating yourself on portion sizes, nutrients, fitness and creating a solid eating plan you can stick with for life. Enjoy the ride.

    Great job, keep it up!!

Be aware though that weight loss does slow down the less you have to lose, so you will probably not keep losing 10 pounds a month like you are now, it will slow down as you have less excess weight- but don't be discouraged when that starts to happen, it's totally normal. When you get close to your ideal weight you might only lose 1 pound a week or less.

    Again, awesome job!!
