Sorry if this is a repetative question, but I just need clarification as I am having a very difficult time to loose I just can't get scale to budge no matter what.....so I checked my BMR on sit and it is 1,485 so my calorie intake on MFP (w/o exercise is at 1,200) so if you need a deficit of 500/per day to loose weight I am only then haveing a deficit of 285/per day w/o exercise .......so how would I loose???? Also what is Bump mean?

Your deficit is not from your BMR but rather from your maintenance calories, they are 2 different things. Maintenance calories are what you burn in a day, whereas BMR is what you would burn if you were in a coma all day. to get your maintenance calories go to My Home, under that click goals, look at the top right for "calories burned from normal daily activity" that is your maintenance calories and that is where your deficit comes off from.0 -
Others are going to have to give you the technical info. I just want to encourage you that I never got a 500 calorie deficit a day and still have lost the 2o+ pounds I wanted to lose. I also almost never ate any of the exercise calories but there are lots of blogs o the pros and cons of that concept. You need to be faithful to eating good foods, writing everything down, having good quality protein to help you not to feel hungry and drink at least 8 but more like 10 (8 oz) glasses of water a day. Try and move a little more each day. Whatever that means for you. If you can walk - then walk a few more steps. If you are unable to do that then move whatever part of your body you can move a little bit more. Don't get discouraged. You can make good changes in your life. I wish you all the best in your journey.0

I don't know what bump means either, I see it often...hopefully someone else will answer that for us. As for the 1200 calories thing, that's the LEAST your body can function on. That's why MFP doesn't go lower than that. And because it's not safe. 500 defecit is to lose 1 pound a week since 3500 calories = a pound. You'll still lose for sure only consuming 1200 calories. Good luck!0

Bump is what people post on a topic they like and want to be able to find it again instead of leaving a comment0
