Today I am wearing draw string pants, fortunately they are adjustable. Not because I have gained weight, but because all my other pants are now too big and slide down even with a belt on its tightest setting. These are the pants I couldn't fit in before MFP because they were too small. I am going to have to spend the rest of the day taking them in so I have something to wear. I LOVE having this problem. No, I am not going to buy new clothes, they are too expensive and I still have a long way to go. Who wants to end up with a closet full of new clothes that are too big?
I had been noticing that my clothes were much looser as the scale numbers went down, but last night a family friend asked "How much weight have you lost? It's really noticable." I felt like I was walking on air. This morning I broke 260 for the first time since before my youngest was born (he is now 7 1/2).
BTW - I broke my ankle 12/28/2008 and was finally released from treatment 1/2/2011. (Yes, it really did take over 2 yrs to heal completely. Lots of physical therapy, surgery, more physical therapy - still had pain and greatly reduced mobility [think wheelchair, crutches and cane].) This contributed to my weight problem as I was at a physical activity level of less than sedentary. Lately I have had lots more energy, waking at a reasonable time- 6:45 - 7:00 AM, w/o an alarm (huge victory! ) and have even started cleaning my house and cooking again after letting kids and hubby fend for themselves during ankle recovery. (gross! :grumble: )
So happy I just needed to share!

Good for you! Wish I knew how to take clothes in...feels like I've been buying pants only to wear them for a month before i don't like the fit anymore and it is expensive! I'm also glad your ankle is better and is no longer inhibiting you from reaching your goals! Keep it up!0

lol, wonderful! Glad you know how to take them up!! I agree though there isn't a point in getting new wardrobe until you hit a weight your willing to stay at. a pair of pants or a smaller shirt here or there may be nessesary as you go along, but if you can make them, sooo much easier!!
Good luck with everything!!0 -
Great Job. I also refuse to Buy new clothes!.
People keep asking when I'll start getting new ones. and Im like you may have spare money laying around but i do not.
I am content with shirts that swim on me and pants that have a belt.
though a weight loss group in town has a clothing exchange which is wonderful. I've given all the clothes that were 4 xl away. and kept the clothes that were smaller. I had a collection of clothes from size 16 when I was in highschool til March this year. size 16 to 4 Xl...0
