Whether it's dry spaghetti or rotini, the serving size is always 2 oz. How do you measure this - dry or cooked? I measured the pasta and it's not a whole lot either!! Any ideas? Thanks!

Well I'm a bit of a freak when it comes to measuring so I actually measure it dry, then cook.

They sell a kitchen tool that measures pasta. It is a disk with different size holes in it. I use it and it is pretty neat. I got it at Bed bath and beyond. And I measure it dry.

I weigh it dry. And it isn't much, but I add a lot of veggies to add filler.

Dry! Get yourself a food scale (digital) you'll be glad you did.

The also equal roughly 1 cup cooked.

Using one of those measuring things is fine if you are making it for yourself, but when making it for a family and trying to decide how much is in a serving can be confusing. I read somewhere that 2 oz. of dry pasta (whatever kind) makes 1 cup of cooked pasta. To test the theory though, you just have to cook 2 oz. (weigh it before you cook it) and then measure it in a measuring cup.

Thanks for the help. At least it helps to know that it equals about one cup.
