Saying good bye to my little friends.....

I know eating healthy doesn't mean you have to completely abandon ALL not so healthy foods....but almost my entire diet consisted of unhealthy foods and I find my inner self screaming for grease, fat, high fructose and corn syurp. Ooooo how I miss you! I discovered granola bars today....yum  Anyone have some good healthy snacks that don't taste like a paper bag????

TIA

Kellogs blueberry fruit crisps. They come two in a pack and are only 100 calories. They taste like blueberry poptarts. They may help to satisfy your sweet tooth. Good luck!

I think once you get adjusted to eating fresh fruits you will learn to love them and crave them. This happens for a lot of people. Make a fresh diced fruit salad once a week and eat from it and refill it through the week. Vegetables are a little more difficult to learn to love. For instance, I love all fruits, but definitely not all vegetables. Yogurts are also really good, so are nuts. There are lots of prepackaged 100 calorie snacks out there you can try, just read the labels as some are real bad in carbs or sodium or whatever.

Fiber one brownies are super yummy. Quaker minis are really goo too. Both are SNACKS though. Only one. LOL Thats what I had to reminde myself often. Fresh berries are so great. The more healthy decisions you make the less you will crave the things that are bad for you. I used to eat about 4 pieces of pizza. Now I dont even crave it and the one time we ate it as a family, I only had a slice and a half and I didnt want any more. It was great. Best of luck. Every day, week, and month you learn more and more.

Yay on the skinny cow bars! Kashi Pumpkin Pie bars....SlimFast makes bars that taste exactly like chocolate bars. Popcorn with chili powder.

I mean, I like fruit, but sometimes I want something else. I'm not an "eat clean or die" person, and I'm happy with that choice.

I frgot to mention air popped popcorn. I have a microwave popper. 1/4 cup fo kernels is 110 calories and that makes a big bowl of crunchy popcorn. I spritz it with olive oil and sprinkle on salt.

Cherries, kashi makes great crackers for laughing cow cheese, and popcorn is the greatest thing ever. I've also started eating raw broccoli with red pepper hummus.

Poporn can be jazzed up with a lot of flavors.

My favorites to put on popcorn are:

Parmesan cheese, garlic salt and paprika

For a sweet/salty taste, cinnamon and splenda.

And for a special snack, I love Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Bars Almond. (A wonderful blend of sweet and salty deliciousness.)

Thanks again everyone. I have an abundance of popcorn (as one of my favs) but its time to switch from Movie Theatre Extra Butter....to the regular. Adding healthy stuff to it sounds so good! I never took the time to think of healthier alternatives...I'm excited that there are so many options that actually sound delicious. This is going to sound so ditzy....but where do you find the Kashi products at a grocery store??? (This is the only brand I don't recognize)
