rewards for weight loss?

My overall weight loss goal is large and intimidating, so I have broken in up into smaller goals ranging from 10-25lbs corresponding with certain dates.
My question is, do you reward yourself for meeting certain weight loss milestones or do you consider the weight loss to be the reward?
I'm trying to decide what if any rewards I want to give myself.

What would be considered a reward? I personally before going on my cuts go out with other gym buddies and stuff our faces as one last big meal before I cut my calories. And the same thing after my cut.1

I buy myself a cute new workout top or yoga pants. Or get a massage!0

I reward myself like I'm a spoiled toddler6

Dont reward self with food any youll be fine. You want to get away from thinking of food as the ultimate golden medal. I like buying new clothes.4

Weightloss ... and the benefits which come from that ... was my reward.
By "the benefits which come from that" I mean things like ... planning for, doing a bit of training for, and then successfully cycling up our local mountain. I am not a climber by any stretch of the imagination and when I was heavier, climbing was absolute agony. So it was quite the happy accomplishment for me to be able to do that.2 -
I personally reward myself with food because as much as I'd love to think brocolli and apples are the best thing ever - my taste buds and stomach aren't that stupid. That being said I plan on burning lots of weight and have each treat meal already planned out. Once I reach the goal I'll pick a day I have the least on so I can enjoy my reward meal (for my ultimate loss it's donuts at the cinemas) and have the time to burn those extra calories this is due to it mainly being a life style choice rather than a diet. I still like those things and everyone deserves a treat!3

I've split my weight-loss up into smaller amounts as well, I haven't really rewarded myself for the smaller amounts but I've already bought my reward for when I've lost my 20kgs (which should hopefully be in a few weeks time) because I feel like this is a large enough amount to deserve a treat... what is it, oh... something I would never ordinarily buy myself unless it's Christmas or my birthday - a Urban Decay eyeshadow palette.1

I personally don't reward myself for weight loss because I feel it would make eating this way something special when I don't want it to be. I want to normalize it so it feels more like "life" than "special effort phase". I do reward myself randomly with stuff, unrelated to weight loss, just because everybody deserves to feel that life is good. I plan trips both small and large scale, buy techy gadgets, go out with friends, buy nice clothes, eat that special high calorie dish I can't always afford, can even be as simple as a nice smelling shower gel.
How you approach it will depend on you. See what works out best for you.1 -
I do reward myself for weight goals. It is usually something I need tho that I didn't plan on getting yet like some more weights I don't have yet or a winter running jacket that maybe I was gonna wait 2-3 more weeks to get instead I get it then to kinda feel like I achieve something. Seeing as I'm a gamer and live for achievement rewards. it all depends on you. One thing I do not recommend is food rewards. It usually leads to you wanting more. I do plan on doing something when I hit one-derland and my half way mark and of course my ultimate goal but those are more special marks in my journey. So they will be different.0

I reward myself all too much really, but I tell myself this is stuff i really need.
I NEED a new Garmin
I NEED new running shoes
I NEED new walking shoes
etc...
I think its a great idea to break up your weight loss in smaller segments.
I had around 35 kg I wanted to lose, starting at 99 kg.
So for me every 10 kg is reward times.
So first it was back to the 80's
Coming up in about 1 kg is Disco-fever (throwbqck 70's)
And lastly, I will finally rock when I get back to the 60's

The result is the good looking, disciplined person you see in the mirror in the mornings. What your doing is great, focus on taking is one day at a time.0

I spent so long trying to lose weight before my vacations and always failed, this time I made a deal that I wouldn't book my next vacation until I lost 30pds..... I still have 12 more to go, and it's taking forever.... But I am not giving up like it was so easy to do before, cause I wanna go on a vaca, and soon dang it !1

I think regularly rewarding yourself is a good idea. You could reward yourself after every workout. It's positive reinforcement. In time, as you build that exercise - happiness connection, exercise might become its own reward. Having something to look forward to is motivational. Just make sure the reward is reasonable.0

I personally do my rewards in 10 pounds loss increments. That keeps me motivated!!0

I'm coming up to a milestone. About .3 pounds from being morbidly obese. I'm getting myself something when I've been just obese for a week. Probably a Patrick Laine Jersey.1

i just play it by ear for each specific thing. feel like something at the time it happens, i'll do it. if i don't feel like anything particular, i'll file the achievement and maybe pull it out later when i do need a 'justification' for something or other.
i owe myself about three xmas gifts too i'm not much for performing celebrations every hour on the hour because something prescribed them to me.0 -
Because I'm keeping my loss to between half a pound and a pound a week I reward myself at every 5 pound mark. Rewards vary based on whatever I feel in the mood for- a pair of earrings, new hairdo, facial, etc. And sometimes, yes, food. Food as a reward, for me, means a restaurant I don't normally treat myself to or just something yummy that I don't normally indulge in.0

It felt like a reward when I went shopping for nice new clothes - but they were also necessary to keep from some work-inappropriate wardrobe malfunctions, so also necessary.
These days, losing a little weight usually means faster runs, which works for me as a reward. I want to get to running a sub-9:00/mile regularly for distances longer than a mile or so.0
