Looking for Friends who have 100+ Pounds to lose.

I started MFP this week and I started at 292.5 and I'm currently at 286. I want to lose 100+ pounds.
I'm not fat due to my genes. I just tend to eat too many calories. I'm used to 5000-6000 calories a day. I'm currently eating under 1800 per day.
This week I've purposely tried to keep my meals even at 30% of my calories each. This has seemed to help me a lot since I'm not as hungery later in the day.
I've traditionally been a late eater and I didn't eat much for breakfast. So I'm trying something different.
I'm open to any tips on some good recipes that are easy to make and satisfying under 500 calories.
Add me as a friend if you have similar goals and would like to encourage each other. I'll be a positive influence.

Hi enfolium. Your eating sounds like mine in it's own kind of way. I was never a breakfast eater and around lunch I would think about food and come dinner time, I was hungry. The issue was I was starving my self and my body started eating up my muscle mass. In the process, my glucose levels went real high for a long time and in less than a week, I lost a good part of my vision. And I left out an important detail. When i would wait until dinner to eat, I would make it REALLY worth my while and go nuts and eat until bead around 1 or 2 in the morning.
I literally went from 225lbs to 300 in less than a year. From there, I injured my back and need reconstructive surgery. Needless to say my life style is very sedintary. I gained more weight. Now I got up to 350. held that for a good while and depressions set in and I went to my highest weight ever this year in january. I was 397 pounds.
Since then I have begun watching how much I eat not what I eat. I am sticking to calories and watching carbs..... kinda. As of today, I am now down to 357 pounds. 40 pounds lost thus far. I still have a long way to go. I am shooting for 225 at least. Doctors say I should weigh around 190 pounds. To me, I would look very sick at that weight.
We can friend if you want. I would add but I don't know how to. All I know how to do is add food and drink and exercise.
Anyhow, I wish you the best or results. Not luck. Luck will get us nowhere.
I am glad I found your post and replied. I hate to see someone post looking for buddies and support and no one replies. That is why I avoid the forums here, most of the time.
Take care!8 -
Hi DjPorkchop73,
Thanks for reaching out to me! I'd love to be friends with you too. Not sure how to do it on this app. I recently switched over from the lose it app. I like MFP way better.
This is my 3rd day trying to balance out my meals and it has been so much easier! Congrats on your weight loss so far. Keep up the good work!

Hello, I have been on MFP for a while. I lost 87 pounds then broke my shoulder in two places a tear ago. Due to inactivity, multiple illnesses and a lapse into poor eating habits I have gained most of the weight back. I would be glad to be friends with anyone. Just send me a request. This is one of the best places to be and it does work.2

Hey Enfolium,
I have more than 120lbs to lose and so far I've lost 15lbs in 34 days. I've sent you a friend request and am happy to be friends.
It's so good to have the support and friendship of everyone on MFP, makes it easier to make good choices and be inspired to push harder.
Good luck and be strong!!!5 -
Hey there! I'm sending you a friend request.
My heaviest earlier this year was 315, and I'm currently down to 278.8. I've never been a big breakfast eater, either, but I have found that even eating something simple (a banana, cup of greek yogurt - higher protein than regular -, etc.) tends to help me make better food choices later in the day. One thing that I didn't realize when I started out is that protein is your friend. Especially if you are adding any type of exercise that your body is not used to.....even walking. On days I would simply add a 20-minute walk, I would find myself ravenous later that day. After talking with several people, I incorporated a protein shake into my calories on days I added exercise, and I felt far less hungry, and I didn't get nearly as exhausted / sore afterwards. Of course, you don't have to buy protein shakes. You could eat more lean meats, high-protein dairy, nuts & legumes, etc.
The other thing I realized is that, for me, eating smaller meals throughout the day instead of two or three larger meals, helped me tremendously. Obviously, everyone is different, but it was something I had never considered, and once I tried it, I was sold.
Anyway, I wish you the best luck on your journey to good health!
Anyone else is free to add me as well, but please put SOMETHING in the message so I know it's not a spam friend request.5 -
Hi enfolium,
I have a similar weight loss goal in mind. My heaviest currently is 338, and I'm looking to be at 200 lbs as a long term goal, and then re-evaluate at that point. At one point back in 2012, I was able to go from 320 to 270 from November to February of 2013. I ended up derailing myself after February when my mother passed away, but I'm back and ready to give it another go since I know what's worked in the past. But I think this time, I just need some more motivation from like-minded people and encouragement. I can help encourage other people, but I just find it difficult to apply the same to myself which is odd, but... if you'd like to be friends, I can message you - anyone else is free to message or add me I would love having more friends!3 -
Hello, I'm friend requesting you and invite everyone else to friend me as well.
I have 165 lbs to lose. I'm at 343 right now but my high weight is 355 (well I was 400 when I had my son because of preeclampsia and swelling but I lost 60 lbs within a month and a half of his birth, so I tend not to count it) I would love to have more friend in a similar situation. I'm following a keto diet so our meals will be a little different but goals are the same!1 -

I know how you feel, I am starting my journey again this week. I am starting at 259 and my heaviest was 265. I suffer from anxiety and stress like crazy. It can be hard to focus and to stay on track. I have been over weight my whole life pretty much. I would do so many different diets and I would lose some weight but then I would get off track and gain it back with some friends. This past year has been really crazy and I went from 219 to the 265 in about 5 months and now I have to worry about my blood pressure for the first time.
My goal is to lose 125 and I am trying to do this before I turn 30 in 2 years. Even if I don't hit the main goal by then I just want to be at a better place before I hit that next decade of my life. Anyone can add me, looking for some good weight loss support and motivation.2
