Does anyone know if this salt can keep ice frozen? I wanted to take some frozen meals with me and thought about putting rock salt in a cooler with ice.

I just saw that grocery stores sell dry ice. I will buy this instead of trying to make my own version. :)

Dry ice is easier if you are sure no one is going to touch it bare handed. However, for future reference any salt added to a cooler of ice will cause the ice to stay frozen longer. Make sure you use a good quality freezer bag to keep whatever you are carrying in the cooler dry.

It seems counter-intuitive, but it does slow the ice from melting in a cooler. Works great for beer!!
