Hi there MFP friends, my name is Adam McLean and I'm turning 23 tomorrow. After running a marathon in 2015 and feeling ok afterwards I want to challenge myself further, therefore, I'm signing up to to the Glasgow-Edinburgh double-marathon in April of next year. I am looking for anyone who'd like to be friends and share any knowledge/experience you have of long distance running/ultramarathon running or even if you just want to follow my progress. All of my current friends are inactive so I'm looking for some new pals. Or maybe you are training for your first ever marathon I may be able to offer you some help/advice

    Hi Adam,

Check out the Long Distance Runners group here at MFP. There are a few ultramarathoners there.

Good luck. I have no plans to ever run further than a regular marathon. That's just crazy. ;)

Hi! I've run plenty of 50Ks and a 80K. I'm registered for my first 100K next June
I'm not fast or anything but I like to run a lot. Feel free to add me if you like!

When it comes to long distance training, make sure that your long, slow run is slow. Too many people run way too fast for their long, slow run and as such, fail to reap the benefits.

If you take the time to build your base, you should be able to run 40 miles for your long run days, which will help prepare you for your next ultra.

Also, don't neglect your foam roller or your core building exercises.

Also a runner but training for a marathon nothing more than that. I can barely keep up with my calories as is. Add me!
I'm a run fast so I can finish fast and eat type of runner. Lol Working on slowing down my pace so I don't myself out.

I've run quite a few ultras (30+), but have stepped back to work on some chronic injuries and get some speed back. I might have a pointer or two.

Feel free to add me if you like.

I'm injured at the moment so no running :( but have two Ultramarathons planned for next year, a 50 miler in April and a 100 miler in Janurary
