Today my boyfriend brought home McDonald's breakfast after a work meeting. My meal contained a whopping 710 calories. I have planned out my lunch and dinner to still fit within my 1200 calorie budget as well as keeping them filling so I'm not starving all day. Also, so far this week I am already under 105 calories. So.... Is this so bad? I don't want to be too lenient with myself, but then again I don't want to give myself too many rules and restrictions either. I'm hoping for a happy medium here. I refuse to go over 1200 calories each day, but I won't ever refuse the foods that I love. Plus, chugging water throughout the day should keep me feeling full between meals. I'm not sure if I'm trying to convince you guys or myself now. Think I just need a little push to stay on the right path today!

Well its all about choice I think! I prefer to spread my calories out through the day, some people don't.

Don't be to hard on yourself, we all have blips, you are trying to stay on track today and that's good. How about fitting some exercise in to give yourself some more calories?

Hi! I wouldn't worry too much about it, but don't make it a habit. One cheat meal a week is a good rule of thumb. If you are eating more than that, you are only going to sabotage yourself. Try to eat clean 90% of the time and you will be ok. You can do it!

After watching my mom yo-yo diet for years, I'm come to the same conclusion myself. If you're going to crack and go off of a diet because you don't allow yourself any treats while you're on it, then it's not a successful diet. You shouldn't live for your diet, you should be dieting to make your life better. If you want to treat yourself to a Mickey D's breakfast every now and then, I say go for it. Maybe even build in a treat day to your week, when you allow yourself one of those "bad" meals that make you happy. If you are able to be successful dieting while still allowing yourself the little things, then you have a better chance of truly succeeding.

    Good Luck!
  • I think you are doing the right thing. I've been told that we can eat whatever we want but in moderation and we shouldn't deprive ourselves of foods that we like. Just don't eat so much of it. Keep doing what you are doing and see how it goes.

Thank you everyone! Today's going good, still under calories. I definitely agree that making it a habit would be destructive, but every now and then can't hurt! :)
