Cravings...

Not sure if this makes sense, but some days I have these cravings and it doesn't matter what I eat (or don't) they never seem to be satisfied. Maybe it's not for a food at all? Sweet, savory, nothing fixes it. Does anyone else experience this?

Are you close to your TOM?
I've had that kinda craving around that time and the only thing that helped it was to go out and exercise, no amount of food or drink could quench it.

Yep. Those days I consume a lot of coffee and focus on anything but food!

Emotional eating? Eating to fill a void? Does buying/eating the foods you crave, intensify the cravings? Are you eating enough (calories, macros, micros)? Do you eat food you like? Are you dividing foods into good/bad, healthy/unhealthy, clean/junk? Sometimes we just want something totally random. Luckily, we don't have to act on every impulse.

If I eat too little one day, I almost always have cravings the next day. I can count on it. If I hit my calorie target for a day, I almost never have cravings the next day.

Yes! I always get insatiable cravings the week leading up to my period. Sometimes during as well. It's hard. Almost as if I'm not in my right mind! I am still practicing trial and error to find things that help. Here is a list of things that have helped me so far:

-Practice intermittent fasting on the really tough days. Normally until about 2 pm.
-Drink as much water as I can stand.
-I crave mostly salty carbs, so I try and stick to filling up on complex carbs and whole foods. My favorite go-to that helps me feel satisfied is a good sweet potato.
-When craving something sweet I normally reach for a packet of instant hot chocolate. When mixed with water, one cup averages about 80-90 calories. The warmness helps me feel satisfied!
-Lots of hot tea and coffee!

I feel your pain when it comes to cravings! I'm interested to see what others suggest. Good luck!
