Ratio of steps to calories burned changed

My MFP account links to my Heath app to measure steps taken and calories burned. The ratio of steps taken and calories burned has dramatically changed in the last few days. I have made no changes to my profile. For example, yesterday with 9305 steps, the calories burned calculation was 182. Saturday 11961 steps meant 232 calories burned. On 9 November, 5903 steps was 238 calories burned and on 8 November, 9698 steps meant 461 calories burned. So the ratio has halved in the last few days. Any idea what the explanation for this might be? Thanks

If you logged a lower weight, that will lower the calorie burn.
Walking speed will vary the burn.
    Data glitch?

Thanks. Weight not changed. I don't think the walking/running speed has changed. I've been using MFP for 5 months and the change is so dramatic I wonder if there could be a data glitch if no logical explanation.

Same problem here! I went from burning 173 calories on my morning walk to 63 calories! Hope to figure it out soon.

Found others with the same problem. It relates to the app update 7.5. The update appears to have affected the calculations. See this link http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10478352/ios-7-5-release-notes-discussion

Same! I thought it was just me and I was going to have to make 20,000 steps a day my new norm just to stay even!
